Considering the importance of rapid determination of antibacterial susceptibility of bacteria, isolated from infectious diseases for the selection of appropriate therapy as soon as possible and increasing the success of therapy, decreasing unnecessary use of antibacterial agents and side-effects, and lowers the overall healthcare costs.We have designed and evaluated a rapid antibacterial susceptibility medium which is based on a rapid colorimetric medium that indicates growth by changing its color.
In this study, we have assessed antibacterial susceptibility patterns of non-fermentative bacteria and Enterobacteriaceae isolated from clinical samples by rapid colorimetric medium according to standard CLSI method.
Colorimetric medium proved to be a reliable rapid test for determining antibacterial susceptibility testing, between two methods total agreement was 92.93% for Entrobacteriacea and 90.46% for non-fermentative bacteria. Major discrepancy was 3.28 % for non-fermentative bacteria and 3.52% for Enterobacreiacea. Colorimetric medium makes results available between 68- hours. It can be considered as a novel and reliable quick method for the assessing of bacterial susceptibility to antibiotics.

The aim of this study is investigation of survival, vegetative characteristics and biomass allocation in seedlings of common ash (Fraxinus excelsior L.) grown in different water regimes. For this purpose, seedlings of ash were examined in a completely randomized design for 120 days in an open area of bottomland forest at two levels of soil moisture regimes (permanent flooding, periodic flooding with a rotation period of 15 days) and control level. At the end of the experiment, flooding decreased survival, vegetative characteristics, biomass allocation and vitality of ash seedlings. This reduction in permanent flooding was more than at the periodic flooding. In contrast, diameter growth response in periodic flooding was greater than permanent flooding and control level. The reason of this phenomenon can be attributed to the development of woody xylem cells. In periodic flooding, compared to permanent flooding, because of greater production of adventitious root and soil drainage, access of oxygen required for metabolism was easier and Photosynthetic organs of the plant (leaf area) and leaf biomass prominently increased. Overall, the results showed that F. excelsior was tolerant to flooding and can be used for restoration of bottomland forest, riparian area, lagoons and plains exposure to periodic flooding

Two fish (+2), one year (+1) and under one year (+0) were observed in all months sample combined of age. Three-year fish (+3) were sampled in all months except May .Among the sampled fish with the maximum age was +4 years old.Variation coefficient of fish +1, +2, +3 and +4, respectively 10, 5, 3/3 and 2/5 was observed. In attention that the coefficient of variation of fish by age is less than 20 Determine the optimum age of fish Byah (Liza macrolepis).

The aim of the present study was extraction and purification of cyclotides from Iranian Viola odorata and examination of their antimicrobial effects against Gram-positive S. aureus PTCC 1431. In the current study, the cyclotide was extracted and purified by fractionation method using SPE-C18 column. Determination of cyclotide purification degree and molecular weight was done by RP-HPLC and tricine SDS-PAGE methods, respectively. Antimicrobial effects of these peptides were studied by radial diffusion assays (RDAs). The results showed that antimicrobial effects of cyclotides were similar to vancomycin and amikacin. It seems that future studies might reveal and propose the use of these cyclotides in treatment of staphylococcal infections

Background and aim: Rab23 is a member of the Rab family of proteins that regulate the fusion and docking of vesicle membranes to membrane of eukaryotic cells. This protein is a spontaneous negative regulator of hedgehog signaling in vertebrates. Hedgehog signaling has a critical role in tissue and organs of vertebrates which has associate with congenital disorders and many types of tumors. Therefore, inclusion of Rab23 is suggested in this pathway and expression anomalies. Mutation of the gene of Rab23 and abnormal expression of this protein can cause some diseases such as: Gorlin and Carpenter syndrome, thyroid carcinoma, hepatocell carcinoma, tumors and different types of cancers.
Matherial and methods: Modelling of this protein was done via Modeller9V7 by selection a suitable template with high similarity fom PDB database. The best model was selected by Procheck for simulation step and then molecular dynamic simulation was done via GROMACS. Autodock4.2 was used for docking analysis of Rab23 with cholesterol for determination of binding sites.
Results: Stability of RMSD and energy plot showed that the constructed 3D model is stable and close to reality. Docking analysis displayed some binding sites for cholesterol.
Conclusion: Having binding site for cholesterol suggests that this protein performes its role in docking to vesicle memberane through the region possesed cholesterol in association with other proteins such as GLI2 and GLI3. Owing to biological importance of Rab23, simulation of this protein in silico could be beneficial for therapeutic purposes in drug design and/or inhibitory ligands. Ling, molecular dynamic simulation

The current study concerns biomass estimation of dominant aquatic plant species of four important wetlands in Babol (Mazandaran prov.) namely, Marzoonabad, Bosra, Langoor and Ramenet. 12 plant species belonging to 11 genera and 9 families were surveyed. A total of 131 vegetation plots along seven transects in various wetlands were collected and analyzed by ANOVA tests and DCA ordination. The average biomass of all dominant species in Babol wetlands is 1309.19 gr/m2 of which Phragmites australis and Najas graminea possess the highest and lowest proportions, respectively. Moreover, Typha latifolia and Ceratophyllum demersum with 3029.81 gr/m2 and 330.10 gr/m2 have maximum and minimum dry weight in the studied plots, respectively. In the DCA ordination biplot, species like Ceratophyllum demersum, Typha latifolia, Phragmites australis and Potamogeton pectinatus have remarkable roles in increasing biomass in the studied wetlands. Moreover, ANOVA analyses indicated that except Schoenoplectus lacustris and Potamogeton lucense, other aquatic species demonstrate significant differences among the studied wetlands.

This Study was conducted to analyze the protein, moisture and ash content of water fern, Azolla filiculoides, in the form of red and green as growth indicators in summer and winter, respectively. The fat content and fatty acid composition of the Azolla, a key component for making decision about the nutritional value of both green and red types, was also compared. Sampling of the green and the red types was done by collecting 20 kg fresh Azolla from Pirbazar, the Anzali Lagoon in November 2011 and August 2012, respectively. After transferring to the laboratory, the samples were dried by a freeze dryer machine and the amount of moisture, protein, fat, and ash of each sample was determined. The fatty acid composition of green and red samples was also evaluated based on the Folch method for GC Analysis after the fat esterification. The results of the present study showed that green and red Azolla contain 38.85±6.71% and 52.42±8.95% saturated fatty acids (SFAs), respectively. However, the amounts of monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFAs) in green and red Azolla were 41.25±13.69% and 36.21±8.74% of total fatty acids. Besides, the poly unsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) content in the green aquatic fern was 19.87±6.72%, while the red form had 11.3311.33±2.61%. The results of the current research demonstrated that both Azolla samples had appropriate content of the fatty acid composition and protein content (18.02±2.11 g/100 g DW in the green form and 7.87±1.84 g/100 g DW in the red form) which could be used as an appropriate source of food for livestock, poultry, fish, and human diet, although green Azolla contains a higher nutritional value compared to the red form.
