Chlorella has applications in medicine, industry and food. For this reason, increase of biomass and its metabolites is valuable. Aim of this study was to obtain the best substance or phytohormone combinations to increase biomass and metabolites contents of Chlorella sorokiniana. In this study, Chlorella sorokiniana was cultured in modified Bold Basal Medium (BBM). Different proportions of plant hormones, naphthalene acetic acid (NAA), indolebutyric acid (IBA) and kinetin (Kin), nitrate and phosphate and thiamine pyrophosphate were added to medium. There was significant rise in dry weight, photosynthetic pigments and protein contents in treatment NAA (10mg.L-1) + Kin (1mg.L-1) compared with control. In treatment of IBA+ Kin, and thiamine pyrophosphate no significant difference was observed in these parameters. The highest significant enhancement of dry weight, metabolites and protein contents were observed in medium supplemented with higher amount of nitrate and phosphate.

Algae as the first circle of food chain are of particular importance. The isolation and identification of algae due to antioxidant compounds such as carotenoids, flavonoids, vitamins and essential fatty acids, used extensively in the food, pharmaceutical, cosmetic. In this research the samples were collected from Bandar Turkman in Caspian Lake and cultivated on F2 and BBM medium in suitable condition. Morphology and molecular (18s rDNA) techniques used to identify the isolated species. Methanolic extract was used to measure chlorophyll a, b, total carotenoids and antioxidant activity spectrophotometry. The isolated species were identified as Acutodesmus obliquus and Desmodesmus armatus based on the gene sequence and morphological characters. According to DPPH and FRAP methods, the antioxidant activity of Acutodesmus obliquus was more thanDesmodesmus armatus. According to the results obtained here these two species has relatively high antioxidant activity which need further complementary experiments to prove safety and nontoxicity to use in food and medical industries.

Chaerophyllum macropodum belongs to Apiaceae family has antioxidant and anti-bacterial properties. Vegetative characteristics of the species on 48 plots located in four sites of Tehran and Alborz provinces were recorded. The aerial parts of Ch. macropodum were collected at the flowering stage from the sites and air-dried at room temperature for two weeks then subjected to hydrodistillation, using a Clevenger-type apparatus. The analysis of the essential oils was performed by using GC and GC/MS. Three soil samples were taken from each site and some physical and chemical characteristics were measured. Analysis variance results of data showed that there is a significant difference among the four sites from the viewpoint of growth characteristics, soil features and common components of essential oils. The major compounds of essences of the species in four sites were trans-β-ocimene, cis-β-ocimene, fenchyl acetate, α-pinene, myrcene, γ-terpinene and β-pinene. In order to determine the most important differentiating factors in sites PCA method was used. The results showed the following characteristics are the most effective in differentiating of the sites. Mobarakabad site: density, α-pinene, fenchyl acetate, TNV and pH; Chenar-e Shargh site: terpinolene, myrcene, the mean maximum temperature of the warmest month, OC and SP; Gajereh site: γ-terpinene, p-cymene, trans-β-ocimene, cis-β-ocimene, absolute maximum temperature and sand; Sijan site: β-pinene, absolute minimum temperature, annual temperature and the mean minimum temperature of the coldest month.
